Ceiliuradh ar nduchas (Celebration of our heritage)

The Capital Area Association of Irish and Celts awards post-secondary scholarships to residents of the Capital Region in celebration of our culture and heritage. We assist deserving high school students and college underclassmen who are pursuing college, technical, or trade education.

Award(s) of $1000 are made on the basis of scholastic ability, extracurricular activities, goals, applicant’s character, and/or financial need. A demonstrated interest in Irish or Celtic heritage is required. Applicants do not need to be of Irish or Celtic heritage to apply. All students are eligible. Multiple scholarships may be awarded.

All information received from the applicant is strictly confidential. All information must be accurate and complete. To be eligible, the application packet must include the following and meet the postmark date:

• Completed application form.  (Download application)
• One letter of recommendation from a teacher
• Applicants’ official school transcript
• List of extra-curricular activities
• Brief description of future goals and plans
• Required essay
• Confirmed availability to attend your school’s Honors Night (or equivalent ceremony)
